The Associate Merchandise Planner will be responsible for planning and optimizing inventory. The ideal candidate is someone who is analytical, strategic and results-oriented. The Associate Merchandise Planner thrives on improving, and creating new processes- and has a deep understanding in the full cycle of the product’s journey to our client from planning, forecasting and allocating to operations and logistics. Essential Duties: The associate merchandise planner is responsible for developing accurate and consistent plans, revisions, and projections across all retail channels within the product company organization. Develops + Implements sales forecasting tool for all product company channels
Establishes, manages, and implements inventory planning process + allocation by channel ( e-comm, Amazon, Wholesale, milk + honey locations )
Establish revised pars + location inventory turn plans for all milk + honey locations
Works closely with the Director of Product to analyze forecasted sales, margin, and turn relative to plan, trend and history
Responsible for open-to-buy process, including reporting and receipt management
Reviews projections/analysis to ensure consistency and strategic alignment to plan/budget
Update weekly reporting inclusive of daily sales, inventory WOS, out-of-stock, and new launch recaps
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Retail Planning or related field
Proven track record driving growth, optimizing inventory levels, improving gross margin.
Strong understanding retail planning ( e-comm + brick & mortar is a plus )
Excellent communication skills
Ability to be proactive vs. reactive
Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges to create actionable strategies
Strong excel competency
This position is based at milk + honey’s corporate office in Central Austin. While we will have lots of flexibility in our work environment and will allow some flexibility from working from home, we expect that this person will work from our office at least 3 days per week.
